ISO/ISM INTERNAL AUDITOR'S COURSE

AIM

The aim of the ISO/ISM Internal Auditor's Course is to develop a practical approach to the interpretation and application of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2000)

OBJECTIVES

On completion of this course the trainees should understand:
  • The content of the ISO 9001 / ISM Code and its interpretation.
  • Management systems and the risk management principles as mentioned in the ISM Code.
  • The principles and practice of auditing.
  • Continual improvement in the management system.

TRAINING PLAN

The course will cover the following topics:
  • Background objectives and impact of ISO:9001:2000 / ISM Code.
  • The principles and contents of the ISO / ISM Code
  • Safety Management and Risks in Shipping
  • The role and responsibilities of the internal auditor
  • Planning and preparation of the audit.
  • Audit techniques
  • The conduct of the Audit.
  • The relationship between the auditor and the interviewee.
  • Reporting the audit.
