HAZMAT COURSE

AIM

The aim of the Hazardous Material Training Course is to increase awareness of dangers involved in carriage of dangerous goods and preventive measures that can be adopted for safeguarding the vessel ad its crew in case of an eventuality.

OBJECTIVES

To enables the participants to:
  • Increase awareness of dangers involved in carriage of dangerous goods and preventive measures that can be adopted for safeguarding the vessel and its crew in case of an eventuality comply with the requirements of U.S. Government laid out 49 CFR part 171 to 177 of the Federal register.

TRAINING PLAN

  • Classification of dangerous goods - proper shipping name and the UN number packing.
  • Marking, labeling and pleading of dangerous goods and marine pollutants.
  • Shipping papers and dangerous goods manifest.
  • Stowage and segregation.
  • Special requirement by 49 CFR Part 176.
  • Emergency response.
  • First Aid in an eventuality.
