ISO/ISM INTERNAL AUDITOR'S COURSE
AIM
The aim of the ISO/ISM Internal Auditor's Course is to develop a practical approach to the interpretation and application of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2000)
OBJECTIVES
On completion of this course the trainees should understand:
- The content of the ISO 9001 / ISM Code and its interpretation.
- Management systems and the risk management principles as mentioned in the ISM Code.
- The principles and practice of auditing.
- Continual improvement in the management system.
TRAINING PLAN
The course will cover the following topics:
- Background objectives and impact of ISO:9001:2000 / ISM Code.
- The principles and contents of the ISO / ISM Code
- Safety Management and Risks in Shipping
- The role and responsibilities of the internal auditor
- Planning and preparation of the audit.
- Audit techniques
- The conduct of the Audit.
- The relationship between the auditor and the interviewee.
- Reporting the audit.
